We regularly get asked questions in regards to the services that we provide and general concerns.

This FAQ section shall look to answer those question for your reassurance that your vehicle is in safe, responsible and experienced hands. Whilst we have tried to cover the main questions revolving our services, you may have a question more bespoke to your own requirements, if this is the case, please use our Enquiry Form and we shall reply in due course.

Q1: Do I need an appointment to have my vehicle detailed?


A: YES - we work on an appointment only basis, please get in touch to arrange an appointment.




Q4: What is Paint Correction?


A: In many cases new vehicles arrive at the dealership with minor scratches or imperfections picked up along the way during transportation from the factory or in many cases the paint is damaged due to improper wash techniques which to repair require more than just a simple hand polish, that’s why we offer a range of paint correction services to suit everything from brand new vehicle's to daily drivers, classics or future investments,




Q7: How long do I need to leave my vehicle for a maintenance detail?


A: In most cases, you can drop your car off in the morning and pick it up in the evening. Some jobs will require leaving your car with us for multiple days.




Q2: Can you detail my vehicle at home or workplace?


A: Since starting our busniness back in 2014, our number one goal has always been to provide car care services of a unrivelled standard to our clients living within Edinburgh and the surrounding area, We do offer mobile maintenance services however when possible we would prefer having the vehicle at our workshop which provides sheltered workspace with adequate lighting and enough space to freely work around the vehicle, uninterupted by the weather etc.




Q3: My vehicle is brand new, is there any need to have it detailed?


A: When buying a brand new vehicle, you would like to assume that your car would be handed over by the dealership in new condition - sadly however in our experience this is not always the case. In most instances the personnel preparing your vehicle at the dealership lack sufficent time to carry out vehicle preparations and more often than not a basic valet-styled job using poor techniques, brushes & sponges cause more damage than good! For these reasons, we offer New Car Preperation (prior to customer handover) that ensures your vehicle is professionally prepared, presented & protected in perfect showroom condition.




Q8: Your services appear to cost more than other companies why is this?


A: Our services may seem more expensive compared to others in the area however unlike others Vulcan Concierge are certified, fully insured and experienced detailers and like in most other industries/trades you truly get what you pay for and we feel that our services based on a standard hourly rate of £45.00 is a small price to pay when seeking car care perfection.




Q9: I would like my vehicle(s) to remain private can you offer a discreet service?


A: We regulary like to update our social media platforms with images and videos of the vehicles or projects being worked upon however, if a client requests no evidence of their vehicle to be displayed we can be sure to be discreet and offer complete confidentiality for you and your vehicle(s).




Q5: What is a Ceramic Coating?


A; A Ceramic Coating is a liquid polymer that is applied by hand to a vehicle’s exterior. (Picture a bottle of clear nail varnish) After application and allowed to cure the coating then becomes the functioning surface of the vehicle whilst creating a permanent or semi-permanent bond with the vehicle’s factory paint, creating a layer of protection. Ceramic Coatings are different from traditional waxes or sealants in that the protection does not wash away or break down and does not require reapplication every few months.




Q6: I've ordered a new vehicle, can you collect it from the dealership & return once detailed?


A: Yes, we regularly complete our New Car Preperation Detail prior to the customer taking delivery of the vehicle or in some instances before they have even seen their new car. Over the years we have built up an extensive list of relationships at local dealerships (Eastern, Tesla, Lotus, Leven Car Company and Gray Paul Edinburgh to name just a few) therefore can liase directly with the dealership, complete the necessary work and return your new vehicle in time for your hand over. Simple as that really!
